Abstract

The Indole ring is a Fundamental unit that contributes significantly to the
biological activity of many natural and synthetic compounds
This study is aimed to evaluate the cytotoxic and genotoxic effects of 2-( 5
chloro-3 ,3-dimethylindolin-2-Ylidene)-3-((4-hydroxyphenyl) imino)
propanal on (MCF7) breast cancer cell line and (REF) normal cell line.
Methods: The new compound was synthesized and Characterized using
Fourier Transform Infrared )FTIR( and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance
Spectroscopy (1HNMR and 13CNMR). Cytotoxic activity was evaluated at
different concentrations and exposure times, while genotoxicity was assessed
using the comet assay.
