Abstract

The bandicoot berry plant is one of the most medicinal plants rich in antioxidants, including phenols, flavonoids, terpenes, and many effective compounds with antioxidant activity, which have an essential role in treating many diseases, especially cancer, arthritis, skin ulcers, sexual disorders, influenza, fever, vomiting, and allergies. This plant has a role in regulating blood sugar and fat levels. It was found that the effectiveness of alcoholic extracts of bandicoot leaves has a role in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, including prostate cancer. It was also found that using the alcoholic extract of bandicoot berry leaves possesses antioxidant activity, as it has proven its efficiency in scavenging free radicals as a result of it containing saponins, terpenes, and sterols. It has also been proven that bandicoot berry leaves work to regulate the levels of liver enzymes and kidney functions by raising the levels of antioxidants in the body. Finally, it was found that bandicoot berry leaves contain many active compounds that have various anti-inflammatory effects by regulating and controlling pro-inflammatory cytokines, including gallic acid and ellagic acid. It has been proven that the plant extracts and the active compounds they contain are of great importance as they have anti-inflammatory properties, which made The extract is able to reduce various infections.
